Why The Conduit will look as good as claimed.

With the general attitude of Gamers toward the Nintendo Wii, it's not surprising that when a company makes claims such as High Voltage Software has regarding its upcoming game: The Conduit, that many see it as nonsense. Some even get riled up. All rather than feel the desire to support a game whose developers have the drive and attitude that this industry needs most right now, as pertains to meeting the needs of "Hardcore Gamers". (As opposed to looking for the quick casual buck.)

Nintendo is failing the core Wii gamer, regardless of what they say.

Our good (but confused) buddies at Nintendo continue to make statements claiming that they are not failing or ignoring the core Wii gamer. But the truth is plain to see. We can only hope that they come to understand how many core Wii gamers really feel about Nintendo's approach to them.

The gaming industry is in a booming state. People are buying more games than ever. Add to that the fact that the majority of Nintendo's games do not have major replay value, and it is clear to see why people want more hardcore games, and want them yesterday. Mario Kart is fun, but a little watered down. Brawl is amazing, but the online is atrocious, which pretty much relegates it to a weekend game with friends. Super Mario Galaxy was great, but like Twilight Princess, once you completely conquer it, there has to be a great deal of time before you want to play it again. Super Paper Mario was so... I don't know... bleh. I'm angry that I bought it.

Message to Parents: Shut up and do your job!

Yes, the Nintendo Wii is a “family console”. However, so is Sony’s PS3, and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. In their own ways, each company’s console goes after the “family” market. It does happen to be true, that the Wii, with its more casual focus, and great lead in consoles sold has a larger family audience. But how does that give parents the right to try and dictate what will and won’t be allowed on a system? It doesn’t. These people need a communicative slap to the face in order to see reality apparently, so I guess I’ll be the one to give it to them.

In case you don’t know what this is all about, there has been a recent outcry from parents and the media in support of these outraged parents over an upcoming game called Mad World (Developed by Platinum games, and to be published by Sega). Mad World is a highly stylized, artistic, and yes, very violent game seemingly cut from famous comic book legend Frank Miller’s “Sin City” mold. The entire game is in black and white, with the exception of red for blood of course. Mad World is exclusive to the Nintendo Wii, and considering the relative lack of quality games targeted at the traditional gamer on the console, the hope and hype built quickly.
